How to Play Texas Hold'em
The Goal
Make the best 5-card poker hand using your 2 hole cards and the 5 community cards, or bluff the bot into folding!
Game Flow
- Preflop - Each player receives 2 private cards. Betting begins.
- Flop - 3 community cards are revealed. Another round of betting.
- Turn - The 4th community card is revealed. More betting.
- River - The 5th and final community card is revealed. Final betting round.
- Showdown - Remaining players reveal their hands. Best hand wins the pot!
Your Actions
- Check - Pass the action (only available when there is no bet to match)
- Bet or Raise - Put chips into the pot
- Call - Match the current bet
- Fold - Give up your hand and forfeit any chips you have bet
Hand Rankings (Best to Worst)
- Straight Flush - Five cards in sequence, all of the same suit
- Four of a Kind - Four cards of the same rank
- Full House - Three of a kind plus a pair
- Flush - Five cards of the same suit
- Straight - Five cards in sequence
- Three of a Kind - Three cards of the same rank
- Two Pair - Two different pairs
- Pair - Two cards of the same rank
- High Card - Highest card when no other hand is made
The Blinds
Each hand, two forced bets start the pot:
- Small Blind - 10 chips (posted by the dealer)
- Big Blind - 20 chips (posted by the other player)
The dealer button (D) shows who posts the small blind and acts first preflop.
